Instrument and operator time at the AMAC is available on a cost basis to both the academic research community and to industry. For scheduling instrument time or training sessions, please contact the appropriate Instrument Specialist, the AMAC Manager, or use the booking system.

1. The facility prime time is from 8 AM to 6 PM on weekdays. All other hours, including weekends and holidays, are considered non-prime time. Only qualified users are permitted access to AMAC during non-prime time. Please contact the AMAC Director to inquire about eligibility and to apply for non-prime time access to AMAC instruments.
2. Instrument reservations must be made through the online scheduling system (lsu.fbs.io) and will be billed based on actual usage time at the rates listed above for all sessions that meet or exceed the reserved duration. For all “no-show” reservations or those with partial usage, 80% of the reserved time or the actual time used—whichever is greater—will be billed. Cancellations must be made at least 4 hours in advance to avoid charges. The minimum billing for instrumentation usage is 0.5 hour, based on the rates listed above.
3. A minimum charge of 0.5 hour applies to any professional assistance that is required or requested. For collaboration-based services provided to academic users, professional assistance is offered at no cost to internal users and at $25/hour for external users. This includes sample preparation, data acquisition, data processing, and reporting. Collaborations must be acknowledged through co-authorship in resulting publications.
4. Continuous usage rates (10 hours or more per day, for internal users only) for selected instruments are as follows: $1000/day for STEM; $650/day for Xe PFIB/SEM and MicroCT; $450/day for Ga FIB/SEM; $400/day for EP, XPS, and XRD; $350/day for Raman, SP8, SpinSR10, and Light Sheet 7; $80/day for Titan or Dell workstations. For reservations under 10 hours, standard prime and non-prime time rates apply. Charges for professional assistance and consumables are billed separately.
5. Immunolabeling services are billed as professional assistance. For collaboration-based immunolabelling service, internal users are not charged while external academic users are charged $50 per sample.
6. All non-academic projects must be coordinated through the AMAC Director. A signed “Scope of Work” is required prior to project initiation.
7. Educational usage for accredited courses is billed at the standard academic rate. Facility assistance for classes or labs is charged separately. Samples used for educational purposes must be unrelated to research activities. Course usage must be scheduled within the first three weeks of each academic semester.
