We're thrilled that you are ready to begin your graduate journey at LSU. Before starting your application, review and gather the required materials listed on our Before You Apply page. You will be asked to attach the required materials and pay the non-refundable application fee as a part of the application completion process.

Application Deadlines
Final University deadlines are listed below; however, most academic programs have earlier deadlines than those established by the University or may admit only for a specific term.
Prospective applicants must contact their program of interest for those deadlines.

Application Processing Fee
The Graduate School application processing fee for domestic applicants is $50 and $70 for international applicants. Upon submitting your application, you will see instructions to pay the fee with a credit or debit card via a secure payment portal. An application processing fee is charged for each application submission. The application fee is non-refundable.
There are a limited number of application fee waivers. More information on fee waivers is outlined below.
Application Fee Waivers
LSU offers a limited number of fee waiver options on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible domestic applicants. International students do not qualify for Graduate School application fee waivers. If approved, applicants can add the application waiver code to the application. The waiver code must be entered prior to submission; the system does not allow for fee waivers to be entered retroactively.
If you fit one of the categories below, please complete the Graduate Application Fee Waiver Request Form and upload the required supporting documents. If approved, a fee waiver code will be sent to the email address used to create you application. The fee waiver code must be added to the "Discount Code" application field at the end of the application, before submission. This will waive the application fee upon submission.
Some programs offer department discount codes to select, highly qualified applicants. If you are not eligible for one of the fee waiver options below or are an international applicant, it is suggested to reach out to your program of interest to determine if they offer department discount codes.

- Certain service-based organizations provide fee waivers for their participants. If you believe you may qualify for an application fee waiver, please email gradadmission@lsu.edu.

LSU Online does not qualify for on-campus Graduate School fee waivers; however, they do offer fee waiver codes to applicants. Please contact LSU Online directly for further information.
- The final day to request a fee waiver is the application deadline for the term to which you are applying.
- Take the required actions for your request well in advance of your program's application deadline to allow for processing.
- The fee waiver does not apply to any additional fees required by the applicant's program of study.
- Late or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
- You will receive an email response regarding the outcome of your request once processing is completed. We will contact you if we have additional questions regarding your submission.
